If you are familiar with ROVR, you know we offer Malaysia’s first mobile refuelling service to commercial customers (B2B) across multiple industries. Ever since its pilot in 2018, ROVR has delivered over 40 million litres of fuel! However, apart from fuel delivery, ROVR has also been involved in multiple relief efforts over the span of 2021 by ensuring undisrupted fuel services to individual consumers when they most need them.
Collaboration with IIUM During Campus Lockdown
In June 2021, ROVR collaborated with the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Student Union to provide mobile refuelling services to the students and staff during a campus lockdown. It was a preventive measure to stop the spread of Covid-19 among the campus community. With ROVR’s refuelling service, which was available during specific times in the week, the students and university staff were able to comfortably move within the campus to go about their daily routines.
Providing Easier Access to Fuel For Communities in East Malaysia
ROVR is also very aware of the struggles faced by rural communities in East Malaysia. There, communities staying further away from major towns sometimes must drive for nearly 45 minutes to an hour to reach their nearest petrol station. Because of this, ROVR has installed several Portable Container Storage (PCS) in Sabah and Sarawak, in collaboration with KPDNHEP. In Sarawak, the PCS are manned by locals such as from Persatuan Nelayan Pulau Bruit to empower them to manage this important source of fuel on their own for their community.
In Sabah, ROVR launched its first Mini Portable Container System (Mini PCS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) in Kampung Limbawang, Beaufort, Sabah. This is to provide the community with easier access to fuel as part of ROVR’s Rural Development Plan and the Ministry’s Community Drumming programme. With the installation of these portable refuelling options, communities in rural areas of both Sabah and Sarawak are now one step closer to increased refuelling convenience which will hopefully be of great help in economic areas of life.
While we continue to enhance our B2B service in 2022, ROVR also hopes to assist individual members of society wherever we can provide convenience. We will continue to engage in relief efforts and possible expand on our contribution to KPDNHEP’s Community Drumming programme in 2022, and we will keep you updated on this!
